Vístete Local llega a MUT Las Condes

Dress Local arrives at MUT Las Condes

By Francisca Vargas Ramos

With the goal of continuing to help decentralize and enhance Chilean designer design, we announce our recognition and the opening of our physical space at MUT, the first urban market in the Las Condes district.

While you once knew us as Nashion It, we've now transformed into Vístete Local. We launched this project, funded by the National Fund for Cultural and Arts Development, with the aim of highlighting the work of national brands and showcasing the work of various fashion designers in Chile.

Decentralizing, disseminating, and strengthening the trades of tailors, jewelers, seamstresses, as well as stylists, photographers, and multiple players in the fashion industry ecosystem has been the constant driving force of our founder, Camila Fuentes.

Expanding the brands' reach was one of the main objectives of our project, as we not only wanted to boost the designers' sales potential and appreciation in their respective cities, but also throughout the country. We even wanted to go a little further, to broaden their horizons abroad.

Camila Fuentes, founder ofVístete Local , comments, “It's true that it's not an easy task, due to the intense competition with foreign brands that have much lower prices, where the creation and manufacturing processes are not essential. I believe that Vístete Local's mission is to educate, make transparent, and give visibility to the work not only of designers, who are the ones behind fashion brands (...) so that we can value the talent we have in our country.”

To date, our work has allowed us to take a snapshot of Chileans' interest in the apparel industry, and we can conclude that the regions have a strong interest in consuming designer fashion, as 40% of sales made on Vístete Local are from outside the metropolitan region.

And when it comes to styles, to date, what Chileans most prefer onVístete Local are garments made of fine materials and basic colors. Furthermore, since we introduced the pre-order system, we've achieved great success, as we've noticed that our followers prefer to wait for their garments because they understand that it's a personalized process.

Our goals are related to sustainability, because in these times of excessive consumption, we believe in the importance of giving space to brands that are responsible with their production methods. On our site, you can find icons like the CO2 icon, which we incorporated to encourage you, as a consumer, to become aware of the impact clothing has on the environment and the carbon footprint it generates.

The list of designers you can find on our marketplace is extensive, bringing together brands from the Metropolitan Region as well as Punta Arenas, Puerto Montt, Temuco, and Gorbea. Options range from all styles and production methods, as several of the designers featured on our website use upcycling and other sustainable methods to create their creations.

Our most recent milestone has us beyond excited, and that's why we want to invite you this coming August 10th to the opening of our own physical space at MUT , the first urban market in the Las Condes district. A space that will allow you to experience in-person window shopping, where you can appreciate the quality and dedication of Vístete Local's national design firsthand.
